Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.
Following Jesus means not only gathering information about him but also obeying what he says. While obeying what he says we will find ourselves at odds with the world including our own families, our friends, our business associates and even what you considered to be perfectly acceptable thoughts and practices. You may find yourself turning away from “deals” or “advantages” that may very well have advanced your career or given you success on the job before but now, it seems these things have taken on new meaning. Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s household, knowing he was a Hebrew. He had privilege and status yet he chose to walk away from it all and God took him and trained him to know something more. He left everything he knew and came to gain much more.
Living your life for Christ will mean surrender to change. God will put you through the fire to refine and purify you so that although you will not fail to receive a hundred times as much… persecutions in this life, you will also receive, appreciate and enjoy a hundred times as much homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields. God is good and faithful. Nothing will be allowed to destroy you, be grateful and humble. He’s only refining you for your position in eternity
About two years ago a little two year old girl we knew, whom my daughter would occasionally babysit with one of her best friends, drowned in the family’s pool. It was heartbreaking for the whole family and friends to have to bury such a tiny, sweet soul so early. The mother was home alone with her and didn’t know CPR. By the time the ambulance came, Serena was gone. With the warmer weather and so many children being out of school this time of year, we have to pay close attention when our little ones are going to be active in water sports and play among other things which may present especially dangerous situations. Please regard all near drowning experiences as serious. They can still lead to secondary drownings which can catch many off guard. Check with community centers and with your church to see if they offer CPR certiication. It’s a good thing to know. Another important thing to know is that a drowning victim while in the throws of dying will appear to be responding to CPR, however, the person could still be dying. Check for body contortion, for example the hands will fold inward at the wrists and the arms may be drawn inward towards the chest. Movement does not necessarily mean that all is well. Some really good footage on real life rescues can be found on YouTube to give an illustration of what to look for and expect. The following are some examples and then we’ve included an article on secondary drowning. Be safe.

Any contradiction to God’s Word is a lie. Lies don’t depend on intentions either. It is possible to lie without intending to do so, and so a lie can be the result of a mistake, however, a lie is still a lie and a liar still needs to be confronted and if possible, corrected. God is never wrong. Get the One Place app and listen to RC Sproul preach on the temptation of Christ and how it compares to the temptation of the first man, Adam.

You don’t learn the truth by giving into a lie. When tempted, rely on the truth of God’s Word and ask yourself, what has God already told you to do? Avoid the sin. Temptation will come. You will think you can trust yourself to be able to figure out what’s so wrong with doing something wrong by doing something wrong but that’s just foolishness. If God said not to do something, it will be written in his word. He even tells us what is right for us to do. Part of resting in him is trusting in his word, in his trustworthiness, in his ability to know what’s best and in the truthfulness and the honesty of his love for us personally, individually. You can trust him to choose for you and to guide you in the way that you should go. You will learn too late that knowing the truth doesn’t come from doing wrong but from experiencing trust and obedience. Adam and Eve, who had once lived perfect lives in an perfect environment with the best of influences in knowing the constant companionship of the Creator, sinned and became experienced in disobedience, failure, disappointment, lose, devastation and the suffering of sin’s consequences. Stop sinning today. Don’t try to cover it up. Know the truth by living it and following Christ.
Adultery, fornication, sexual perversion–why does the Bible mention different kinds of sexual sins? I think a good reason the Bible gets so specific is because we often look for loopholes when it comes to doing what we want to do.
No sex outside of or after marriage is the same as no sex before marriage. It’s wrong. The Bible tells the truth regardless of cultural trends and the Bible also calls sex outside of marriage rape. It’s theft. It’s betrayal. It is an act of violence which is a violation. It doesn’t matter when the marriage occurs, the fact still remains that those who are to marry belong to someone and that someone belongs to the one who is to join that person in marriage, and it is best to remain uncorrupted and faithful to your future someone until you marry one another. Whether a person engages in sexual activity with no intentions of marrying the other person or has sex with the person with whom the person intends to marry, the answer is still no. How many women have believed that a man had the intentions of marrying them but never did? To protect oneself from this kind of deception, wait. From what I’ve learned from men is that they understand respect and if a woman would respect herself more and not give a man more than what he deserves, he will be able to respect her. Don’t worship any man, placing him above God and God’s word. Having sex with a man with the intentions of getting him to want to love and marry you just looks like manipulation and it is.
The effects of sexual sin are the same. Not good. Memories of past lovers are hard to erase and when difficulties arise, those memories can permeate the mind and give life to destructive fantasies which cause problems in new relationships. Baggage! Part of the reason some suffer from performance anxiety is the real or the perceived existence of competition and comparison of past lovers. No matter how the actual events happened, it’s the imaged happenings that destroy trust and intimacy and casual sex before marriage as well as after destroys trust.
There’s a very good and practical reason not to have sex before marriage and there’s an equally good and practical reason to talk about sex before marriage. We talk about cars and houses and sometimes we talk seriously about whether we want to have kids but are we willing to have an adult conversation about what we prefer in the bedroom? Being able to discuss your desires, your apprehensions, your willingness to explore in certain areas is better than pretending either to be a novice or an expert. Mutual openness and honesty can build trust. You can get yourself into a situation that will be tiring, trying, if not plain old degrading if you don’t have communication about everything in this area. Clear up perceptions and preconceived notions. Keep the marriage bed pure.
2 Samuel 13:
12“No, my brother!” she said to him. “Don’t force me! Such a thing should not be done in Israel! Don’t do this wicked thing. 13What about me? Where could I get rid of my disgrace? And what about you? You would be like one of the wicked fools in Israel. Please speak to the king; he will not keep me from being married to you.” 14But he refused to listen to her, and since he was stronger than she, he raped her.
15Then Amnon hated her with intense hatred. In fact, he hated her more than he had loved her. Amnon said to her, “Get up and get out!”
It’s been my experience that engaging in sexual activity before marriage gives you a false sense that the situation will inevitably end in marriage, that there needn’t be any discussion about anything important because the deal has already been done. Some ladies, especially, imagine that sex will somehow send an electric charge to the right man’s heart and he will fall madly in love and forget about all the important compatibility issues or the simple fact that a girl who sleeps with a man before she is sure he is committed, before she gets the security she really desires is just aimlessly throwing herself at any and everything. She’s fishing. It used to be that men wanted to marry. The goal of most if not every man was to get married because that was the only way he was going to be able to have sex with someone who wasn’t a professional. Why did this change? Women became more promiscuous and they don’t even demand payment for services rendered. All that’s needed these days is a look and maybe a drink. Women have no standards and they think they’re winning at some I-can-do-it-all-without-you competition. Women do not respect themselves and yet they imagine that men can be manipulated into giving their hearts to them. We women cannot love like men do. We can’t beat them at their game. Men have the ability or the skill of compartmentalizing. Women are often categorized. Once a woman starts to have sex with a man, she gets attached and her desperation to cover up her sin becomes more apparent. She is not so willing to discuss the heavier topics but she will push for marriage no matter what the costs are which often results in her losing what he represents to her in the way of leadership, guidance, comfort, companionship, partnership, friendship, acceptance, and emotional security. She loses all of what she hopes to gain through him altogether.
I don’t even know if it is true that there are flitration systems that can remove fluoride from our drinking but there are companies willing to falsely claim to have the ability to do so. Filter systems that are attached easily to your water faucet or placed in a pitcher of water do not remove the tiny molecules but the type you put in your refrigerator may and definitely those that specifically target the additive. “This ‘creative chemistry’ has trouble with the periodic table too…
halogen is halide… and As is astatine he thinks… so much for him
being an ‘expert’ in the area. He was probably drunk and forgot about
setting up this page in the morning. It is total BS that HF should be
more reactive than HCl. HCl is the much stronger acid. HF dissolves
glass, which might suggest that is devilish stuff, but that’s the only
aspect where it does something that can’t be done by other HX. The
acidity of HX follows exactly the opposite trend of the reactivity of
the halogens. This is something the author is totally oblivious to.
“Furthemore i am not convinced that F- will be removed from the water
thru distillation, since HF is as opposed to other HX acid not a
strong acid. This means that some of HF will be present in the water
as well. HF/H2O ‘complexes’ or ‘clusters’ are well known because of
the tendencies of both materials to form strong H-bridges (hence the
high boiling points compared to the higher homologes H2S and HCl). So
distillation might very well shift the F- + H2O <-> HF + OH- or H3O+
+ F- <-> HF + H2O equilibrium to the right side due to the constant
removal of HF through the distillation process.
“The ion exchanger as suggested further up in this thread seems the
best solution IF you want to remove the fluorine.
Just keep in mind that about every water purifying system integrated
in yer potable water installation is a possible time bomb since it
removes all the additives which make sure a biological contamination
(e.coli, legionella) cannot take place. The water staying in the pipes
behind the water purifier will be a playground for microorganisms.
Immediate ‘danger’ will be avoided by letting the tap run a while
every morning. But it can happen that the colonies will stick to the
walls of yer tubing, in fittings etc. and stay there.
“This problem is not too serious if you are healthy with a decent
immune system, just reconsider the need to remove Fluorine because of
one moron’s amateur chemistry page with more errors that dubya’s
From what I’ve been reading so far it is very cofusing to everybody but the people who ‘know’ chemistry. Ok now I want to know if anyone knows what we can do to counteract the effects of consuming fluoride and chloride or chlorine.
2 Thessalonians 2
1Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
5Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it (referring back to the aforementioned subject of the discussion, the Day which is to be revealed) back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
Satan will be taken out of the way before the Apocalypse.
1And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that (the 1,000 years), he must be set free for a short time.
4I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. Theya had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
7When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
We’re not told that there will be another chance after Satan is released.
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
First we are told that there will be a great falling away, also called the apostasy within the body of Christ’s church. Believers will seemingly turn from following Christ and follow after things taught by demons.
1 Timothy 4
1The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2Such teachings come through hypocritical (pretending to be Christian) liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods (I would submit that this is pointing to 2 legalistic “believing” groups that teach works as a means to abtaining salvation), which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
6If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters,a you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
However, as we know from the clarification given in Scripture, if they leave us, they were never apart of us. Saying or doing something stupid/sinful is not an indication that a person is not saved. Infact, Christians sin, we are no longer guilty of unbelief concerning the gospel and we are not in outright, continuous rebellion towards God but we live in our old bodies and we live with our old sin nature, so we sin. Saying that Christians no longer sin would be lying. Remember what caused Jesus to apparently say to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s,” in Matthew 16? Examine for yourselves what Peter said. Many things having to do with the kingdom of God are about words and the reality and the effect of thought. Peter had taken Jesus aside after he had announced that he would be giving his life of the cross and Peter replied, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.”
The church body is presently divided over the interests of individuals, the opinions of men and it ought not be so. The World Christian Encyclopedia by Barrett, Kurian, Johnson (Oxford Univ Press, 2nd edition, 2001) reports that the body is divided into at least 33,000 factions. When it is a matter of personal opinion or preference and the choice or action has nothing to do with disobedience to God, the Scriptures says, “…let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.” (Rom. 14:13). Recorded both in 1 Corinthians 6 and 10, Paul, addressing the Corinthians said, 21You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons. 22Are we trying to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
23“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. 24No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. The understanding here is that we give ourselves permission to do things without giving consideration to God’s desire for us and then when we have to suffer the consequences, we often indirectly accuse God of not protecting us. Obviously he’s done everything to prepare the way in which we are to walk within the constructs of real love, not forcing us but rather nudging to live within boundaries which He desires for us to be one as he is one and the way we become one is through our agreement with the Word.
A Call to Repentance
1Gather yourselves together, yes, gather, O nation without shame, 2Before the decree takes effect– The day passes like the chaff– Before the burning anger of the LORD comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD’S anger comes upon you. 3Seek the LORD, All you humble of the earth Who have carried out His ordinances; Seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’S anger.
The sifting and refining comes before the gathering
1 Peter 4
…16but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name. 17For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER?…
Now, I’m not claiming to know some secret knowledge but everytime I hear it preached that after the rapture there is still time for Gentiles to receive Christ, I feel uneasy, because a lot in our generation don’t value telling others about Christ figuring that there will be still another chance. I don’t know that, so I work while it is still day, taking every opportunity to share the knowledge of Christ, first with the believer and then the knowledge of salvation with the unbeliever. Therefore, I simply submit this for the believer’s consideration.
The word Day in the Scripture doesn’t always mean a day made up of 24 hours. The Day means a period of time or an event, like The Day of the Lord’s Wrath and The day of the Lord above mentioned in the 2 Thessalonians passage, refers to a period of time filled with events, “the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him“… The Son of Perdition, the Man of Lawlessness who will be revealed and will exalt himself and challenge the ideas many hold concerning God and the gods, the man who will attack fortresses or soveignties will be revealed, prior to that the church will experience a sifting and a refining where the number of believers martyred will reach its limit and then we will be snatched out of this dimension and be translated into timelessness. We will receive our new bodies, being forever changed in the twinkling of an eye. Like butterflies we will become new and fly away to meet our Lord and Savior in the air.
